The apricot blossom season in Kargil, Ladakh is in April, and the festival is celebrated from April 6 to April 18. The festival is a celebration of the apricot blossom and the local culture of Ladakh. 

Kargil is one of the two Districts of Ladakh region and is the second largest town of Ladakh and is situated roughly at equal distance(200KM) from Srinagar, Leh , Padum Zanskar and Skardo Baltistan. Kargil has always been an important trade centre in the past. Traders from China, Central Asia and different parts of India used to trade in Tea, Wool, Carpets, Silk and precious stones in olden days and Kargil was known as a historical meeting point.

Kargil regained its importance when the area was thrown open for Tourists in the year 1974 with other parts of Ladakh and considerable number of tourists, trekkers and mountaineers started visiting Kargil.

The District again came in lime light during the Indo- Pak conflict in 1999 as it remained in the headlines of National and International media and some sites such as Tiger Hill, Tololing, Mushku valley and Batalik have become very popular since then.

  • Hunderman Village -Hunderman is one of the northernmost hamlets in India and is situated in the Kargil district of Ladakh. Located on the banks of the Suru River 10 km from Kargil, It was under Pakistan's control until 1971. Geographically, Hunderman lies in the Baltistan Region.There are two parts of Hunderman: Lower Hunderman Mal (lower village) and Hunderman Broq (hill village).
  • Suru Valley- Suru Valley in Kargil, Ladakh, India was named one of National Geographic's top 25 travel destinations for 2025. The valley is known for its green landscape, dense plantations, and the Suru River. 
  • KartseyKhar- Kartsey Khar in Kargil is famous for its 8.5 metre high rock sculpture of Chamba (Maitreya Buddha)
  • Sankoo- Sankoo is a picturesque township surrounded with numerous villages and colourful rocky mountains all around. It is a popular picnic spot for the tourists where you can explore the lust plantations and wild roses.
  • Karkichoo - Karkitchoo village in Ladakh is famous for its high-quality apples and apricots. It's also known for hosting the annual Apricot Blossom Festival.
  • Drass War Memorial-The Kargil War Memorial, also known as Dras War Memorial, is a war memorial built by the Indian Army in the town of Dras, near Kargil city in Kargil district of Ladakh, India, commemorating the 1999 Kargil War between India and Pakistan.
  • Mushko valley- The Mushkoh Valley is a valley situated in Dras. It is also known as valley of wild tulips, which are a major attraction for tourists.
  • Lalung Village Lalung village near Batalik. This village is en route from Aryan Valley to Kargil, situated at the base of Himboting La -13380ft.
  • Aryan Valley-  Aryan Valley, historically known as Dah Hanu region,is an area comprising four village clusters — Dah and Hanu in Leh district, and Garkon and Darchik in Kargil district — in Central Ladakh in India. It is inhabited by Brokpa people of Dardic origin.Until its absorption into the Maryul kingdom, Brokpa chiefs wielded nominal autonomy in the region.The current name originated in the tourism industry c. 2010 to market the Brokpas, the local inhabitants, as being the primordial Aryans.
  • Cave Monastery Shargole- There is an impressive Cave monastery    in a cliff at Shargole which is a important tourist attraction.
  • Sapi La- Sapi La is a high mountain pass in the Ladakh Himalayas of India. It's located in the Sapi highland and is part of a trek route from Phokar to Sapi Tso. 

Day 1
Arrival in Kargil

Meal: Dinner

After arrival in Kargil. Check-in to the hotel. Today you will spend most of your time in your hotel and surroundings for better acclimatization. As you are coming to high altitude dry area from lower region, your body needs to be acclimatized properly to avoid health issues. This way, if you want, you can explore the Kargil town and Tfc in evening . If time permits after Lunch time you can make a visit to the Boarder Village Hunderman. Overnight at hotel in Kargil.

 

Day 2
Suru Valley

Meal: breakfast and dinner

Today after breakfast, will head towards Suru Valley along side the Suru River with the mesmerising view of the Suru Region.You will visit the Karchey Village where you will visit the old Khar(Palace), Shrine of the Rgyak Khatoon(Gyal Khatun was the wife of Jamyang Namgyal, who was the ruler of Ladakh in the 17th Century and the famous Buddhist Statue.After that you will visit the famous picnic spot Damsna with the most picturesque view.By evening you reach back to your hotel at Kargil/Ashina.Stay overnight at hotel in Kargil/Ashina.

Day 3
Karkichoo-Drass

Meal:- Breakfast and Dinner

Today after breakfast, will head towards Drass(the second coldest inhabited place in the entire world) mesmerising views Inrout you will also visit the famous Karkichoo Village.At drass you will visit the Kargil War Memorial and the beautiful Mushko Valley.By evening you reach back to your hotel at Kargil.Stay overnight at hotel in Kargil.

Day 4
Aryan Valley

Meal: breakfast and dinner

Today after breakfast, will head towards Aryan Valley via Lalung La (base of Himboting La -13380ft.).Aryan Valley, historically known as Dah Hanu region,is an area comprising four village clusters — Dah and Hanu in Leh district, and Garkon and Darchik in Kargil district.By evening you reach back to your hotel at Kargil.Stay overnight at hotel in Kargil.

Day 5
Cave Monastary-Sapi La

Meal: breakfast and dinner

Today after breakfast, will head towards Cave Monastery Shargole and Sapi La (Sapi La is a high mountain pass in the Ladakh Himalayas of India. It's located in the Sapi highland and is part of a trek route from Phokar to Sapi Tso).By evening you reach back to your hotel at Kargil.Stay overnight at hotel in Kargil.

Day 6
Departure from Kargil

Meal:- Breakfast

After breakfast you will be drop at the Taxi Stand  to take the taxi for Srinagar/Leh to take your flights towards home.
